sometimes doing the right thing hurts

To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it. -Thomas Jefferson

Senetor Biden wins vice presidential debate vs. Governor Sarah Palin

Calm, cool and collected,  Senator Joe Biden exuded confidence and experience during tonight’s vice presidential debate vs. Governor Sarah Palin .  Palin lacked the fire she has exhibited previously in this campaign. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for her to stir the fire and hammer the points that are so vital to her ticket.  But that didn’t happen.  She hit the nail on the head when she said “government needs to learn to be more efficient”, only to leave the nail sticking out of the plank. The McCain Palin ticket needs to step it up in the following weeks and build a rock solid platform in order to gain the full support of Americans.

Tax talk gets me all fired up.  As many of you know I’m a big Fair Tax man myself. Someone please explain to me how its fair to tax corporations and the super rich, as the Obama ticket proposes, and cut taxes for everyone else.  I wish Palin would have elaborated on the logic behind McCain’s proposed tax breaks.  Do Americans really think the oil companies are evil for making huge profits? Profits that grow our ecomony. If my company was making huge profits, even huge by my standards (which surely isn’t billions….yet 🙂 ) I wouldn’t want to be taxed as highly and unfairly as these oil companies.

Past the 10:00 mark of the debate, I think the momentum started to drop off quickly. Still, Senator Biden can’t compete with Palin when it comes to connecting with the American people.  She knows how to inspire when it comes to reform and to, as she said “Put government back on the side of the American people”.  Overall, neither candidate had any home runs, but both gave plenty of typical “unanswers” to many of the questions. You know the ones. I don’t think any politician can give a direct and straight answer if their life depended on it.

I only hope every U.S. citizen will wake up, do their research and stay connected. It is the only way to make an educated decision in November. Who will bring this country back to it’s foundations of freedom and liberty? Surely not Obiden 🙂
